The Competition
Played over 5 courses in 5 days, the competition is both unique and fun for all participants. Pairs can be men, ladies or mixed, gents having a maximum handicap of 24 and ladies 30. The strokeplay format gives the golfer the feeling of playing in a top rate tournament, just like the golfing Pro’s.
All 5 courses are within close proximity of one another. Only 16 miles separates the furthest away courses, from Blairgowrie in the West to Kirriemuir in the East, and with the remaining 3 all within a mile of each other in the middle. The courses include the championship Rosemount course at Blairgowrie, the established heathland courses of Alyth and Kirriemuir, and the new and challenging courses of Strathmore and Glenisla. They range in length and difficulty, as well as terrain, yet all have fantastic character and scenery providing the competitors with numerous daily challenges as they try to post the lowest aggregate score for the week.
Registration for the 2012 event will be at The Blairgowrie Golf Club on Monday 3rd September from 09:00. The presentation of prizes will be at The Alyth Golf Club on Friday 7th September at 17:00. The competition tees off on Monday at Blairgowrie Rosemount, followed by Strathmore on Tuesday, Glenisla on Wednesday, Kirriemuir on Thursday and winding up with Alyth on the Friday.
